Cogent Multifinger Scanner DactyScan84c from Thales is an optical live fingerprint reader with large platen commonly used for ten print. The reader is capable to capture 4-slap and 2 thumbs fingerprints, allowing to collect all 10 fingerprints using 4+4+2 method. Also, the DactyScan84c can capture single rolled and flat fingerprints.

The device is certified by the FBI as compliant with FBI IAFIS IQS CJS-RS0010 (V7) Appendix F. Also it is compliant with ANSI/NIST-ITL-1-2000 and ISO/IEC 19794-4 standards.
It also comes with a user interface based on 12 LEDs facilitates the acquisition procedure by indicating the fingerprint(s) to be acquired and providing quality feedback. Main applications are e-ID document enrollment, voter registration and criminal background checks.
